Week 1 Done!
Yeah! Week 1 is done! I think I am more happy about being able to start my training than anything.
Thankfully, the tonsillitis cleared up enough for me to start week 1 of my 12 week plan on time. I’m still on antibiotics and am taking it easy but am so glad just to be getting started.
Overall it went very well. Monday was my ﬁrst rest day of the week and I was ﬁghting the urge to go out and swim, bike, or run. But I kept in mind the importance of rest to avoid sickness and injury. And it was a good thing because after running the 5K on Sunday and swimming, biking, running, and strength training Tuesday and Wednesday, I was very appreciative of my rest day on Thursday.
Next week I start my intermediate adult swim training classes and am looking forward to getting started with those. I know have lots of room for improvement with my swim technique.
